ADVISORY TEAM

Isabella Mwangi, is a feminist with over 7 years of experience in the human right sector more specifically on children and women rights. She is passionate about the law and how law and policy can be used as tools for sustainable development and specifically Gender Equality. She has chaired the Kilifi County Gender Based Violence Network at the county level (2015-2017) during her tenure she advocated for proper reporting and referral mechanisms on violation to legal structures for purposes of access to justice. Member of the Kilifi Teenage pregnancy Taskforce, tasked with the mandate to come up with a report of how best to prevent and respond to teenage pregnancy in the county. Additionally, she played a key role in capacity building members on the laws and polices related to Gender Based Violence, holding consultative meetings and dialogues ranging from high-level closed-door meetings with decision makers, to technical working groups and community forum on Gender Based Violence including the development of the Terms of Reference for Kilifi GBV, technical working group. Isabella has a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Nairobi, Advocacy on human rights, AMREF University and currently pursuing Strategic Litigation with a feminist focus.. She is a Rotarian, and was the president of Rotary Club of Kilifi 2016/17. Enjoys traveling and an avid reader, her mantra in life: passion, compassion, humor and style.
